Democracy in the Age of Covid-19: Will our body politic survive the pandemic?

Lear Center Director MARTY KAPLAN moderated this conversation about the implications the pandemic could have on voting, civic engagement and the 2020 election. Speakers included STACEY ABRAMS, chair of Fair Fight Action, former minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives, and the 2018 Democratic nominee for governor in Georgia; NORMAN LEAR, legendary TV/film producer and political and social activist and phi­lanthropist; and KATHLEEN HALL JAMIESON, the Elizabeth Ware Packard professor of communication at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication, the Walter and Leonore director of the university’s Annenberg Public Policy Center, and program director of the Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands. The event was hosted by Hollywood, Health & Society, in partnership with the WGAE and WGAW.
